It's a Saynor Pruner knife. Saynor made mainly pruner knives. The other companies did too but Saynor made more than any one else.

Picked up this nice Camillus Sword brand,has somelight use marks on the blade but doesn't look to have been sharpened.
I like the "coining" of the liners

back when workers had time to add some bells & whistles.
I've got a few Schrade USA with milled liners.

Found this Frost Excelsior Grade Lockback recently.
Signs of neglect like life in a drawer and some steel wool
action but little use. So decided it was salvageable.
Had heard of them about 3.5 years ago but never seen one.
If anyone knows more history of them such as when made
and by whom since construction doesn't seem Frostlike.

First pic is as received, Pics 2 & 3 after some
elbow grease, polish and few drops of oil.
I'm sure (68%) whoever scratched up the blade
did more harm to it's 'value' than my detailing.

I would guess early 80's......probably made in Seki Japan. .....nice knife.

Front tang has I guess a Frost eagle logo.
If it's not an eagle might be two peacock
tail feather fans behind a steer's skull.

. I have never heard of the Frost logo described in such a way....

I'm almost certain that it was made in Japan.....I also believe that it was designed by Tak Fukuta..who is a great craftsman!!
He designed a lot of knives for Frost,American Blade and Marbles....in the 1980's-90's......I'm not 100% sure about the designer. But it looks like something that He would have designed.

So i went to the local feed and ranch store to buy a couple of Carrhart shirts this morning. They have this sale every year at this time. I was standing in checkout and glanced across the aisle and I spotted the knife show cases. After paying for my shirts, I walked over to look at the knives. Today's special was, any product with a red sales tag was 50% off the already marked down price. So there , in the case, was a CRKT 6401 Wrangler lockback. And danged if it didn't have a red sale tag. So, to make a long story short, they went behind the counter and got into the knife drawer, pulled out that knife still neatly boxed up and ended up costing me a whole $3.89. I grinned like that the whole way home! Bull

I bought one 16 years ago ,which I still have. The deal was so good I could not buy it. I'll give it to my boy. And I just simply don't need more clutter lying around the man's room. There's over two hundred knives stashed away in there as it is. Bull

You've been talking with my wife! Haven't you Bill!! That first knife that I bought, I got at the lumber yard that was supplying the lumber packages to the company I worked for. I had to get some strapping andwhile I was at the counter signing for the company there was this small case of Columbia knives. It also happened to be my birthday, so I pointed at that Wrangler in the display case and asked for the company discount too! They just laughed and tossed me the knife. If I remember correctly I ended up paying $11.00 for that knife. Carried that knife in my pocket every day for 13 years. Retired that knife when the housing market tanked in '08. It's still a good knife, my boy will enjoy the new one. I got infected with that knifeinitus and just can't quit! Giving up cigarettes was easier than trying to get off knives Bull

Made a trip to Mecca today - SMKW
Walked around and stared for 5 hours, but was able to limit myself to only two knives!
Victorinox silver alox and Boker USA Great American Story knife #1787, "Bridging the Continent".
Only one more and I'll complete the set!

Yesterdays finds. A pair of 4" Edgemasters.
Goins says a Schrade brand g-1945-1955 and also states this was a switchblade.
Levines guide 4 says see Schrade Walden. No dates given.
Price's Guide says switchblade knife made by Schrade c 1940's
They snap and lock and the safetys work.
