I just got something rather special to me, for reasons that shall become clear momentarily. It sort of follows a thread I made recently, http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 64&t=24752 .
Lately I have been concentrating on "pretty" knives, fancy handled senator pattern and penknives. With some trepidation I have acquired some celluloid scaled jobs, mostly kutmaster, a few schrades and some other random makes. Additionally, many metal scaled penknives with designs in them (quite a few Arnex).
I have added a number of knives to my wife's collection over the past year, also "pretty" types. She particularly wanted some made the year she was born and that was easy: a set of the S.W. Cut. patriot knives offered in 1976 and a beautiful mint centennial Kutmaster stockman emblazoned with 1976 and a flag.
Finding a knife from my year of birth was more difficult, as none of the knives I collect, or ones made back then, were dated.
Then I chanced upon this Schrade Walden 759, which, according to Dale's list of open stock knives was manufactured only in 1953. BINGO!!
I now present to you my "special" knife! WOOT!
Enjoy,
Russell
