it appears you have the German version, while I have a U.S. version.
Nice knife with box. I don't have a box. I felt lucky to get the leather attatchment.

I have one similar, but not a clean as yours.
They sure have nice jigging though, don't they.

Hi Joe, yeah, I have a real liking to most any Primbles I`ve seen over the years. I don`t know if they had contract agreements with makers to put something a little "special" in the jigging patterns and blades of their knives or what but all of the old ones have been very well made. Thats a real nice knife you have there....looks very similar to mine ...your is prob a lil older and most likely even better made....Nice find!

-I picked up this old "the ideal" knife at a yard sale recently....had a little carbon peppering which cleaned up pretty good. They were cheapie knives made back in the mid 1900`s but this one still has nice blades and tight "shell handles" and surprisingly sharpened right up. I kinda like it for what it is.

If them Shell Handle knives have tight scales and Carbon I like 'em too!

Yeah, I`m truly amazed at how some of the old shell handled knives have a real good quality of steel in the blades. Also, I really think a lot of those older solid handle Imperial knives are often overlooked when it comes to quality. I have a few that are every bit as good as any "name brand" knife of the day.....in fact some things about them are preferable....brass linings, excellent edge holding blades and great fit and feel in the hand.

(iirc) a star on the pile side tang is a Boker U.S.A.
Schrade also made knives for Primble.
Either way it's a great garage sale find.

Thanks for Boker info re: Primble knives. I didnt realize that the "star" stamp was a Primble/Boker trademark. I have Primbles with both the stars and without. Do you think those without were likely made by Scrade? Thanks for the feedback again..

Yeah those $1-$5 knife finds at yard sales do feel nice dont they. Most times picking up a great old vintage knife like that makes my day much more than panning out a lot more money for a new knife that looks real nice but has little or no history( though I have a lot of those too )

Try as I may, a new shiny Knife doesn't do as much for me as an old Knife with some history in it!

My Grandpa's Camillus 72 is a good example. It was sharpened down more than any of his others. I think that means SOMETHING!

here is three that i picked up at a estate sale they are zippo brand you dont see zippo knives that often so i picked all three what can anybody tell me about these they still have the price tag on them $9.50 their my first zippo knives but i do have over 200 zippo lighters as i collect them also they go good in displays with my knives

and this one i got for a doller sence i bought the zippos its a different pattern for sure but it was real cheap and i couldnt pass it up the tang on the blade says richartz solingen rostfrel stainless inoxydable germany not sure about the spelling but thats exactly what the tang says

BD8B - Rostfrel is German for stainless steel and inoxydable is French for stainless steel. Solingen is of course The knife making city in Germany but I'm sure you already knew that.

Interesting blade on that knife. Is the rounded portion at the end sharp?

The US was the largest consumer of English pocket knives and other cutlery for decades. There are more over there than over here in all probability.

I got this German made a couple mounths ago tang stamp says WH Wagner back of main has a capital W also--don't have it sittin in front of me hope you can see stamps in the pic's--got really hard snap on both blade and the pen has a long pull--pic's inlarge if you click on em
