TJ and Joe, Here is the Electric Cutlery Fruit knife which I promised a few days ago to post pics. My camera doesn't give due justice to the beauty of the knife, but I am happy as a clam to own it. I've been waiting two years for a friend of mine to part with it and it's been worth the wait

Hey Joe, Gino, thanks for the comments. Like I said, my pics don't due justice as to showing the quality of the knife. The blades are carbon steel, brass liners, and mother - of - pearl handles. The brass liner between the two springs has a pattern etched into it. It really is a nice little knife. As I had said earlier, this is going into my private collection. My friend, that I bought the knife from, had never heard of a fruit knife. He thought the pick on it was for pickin' slivers!

Electric Cutlery Co. was in existence only from 1890 - 1909. It's really somethin' to hold , knowing how old it is ( approximately ). Now if it could only tell the stories it knows!

I finally have started finding some knives again at the flea market.

Case black bone 2 dot (1978) stockman -mint
Providnce Cutlery metal engraved knife
Ranger delrin jack (early tang with Pat Pending)
When I got my new computer a few weeks ago I must have thrown my camera cord out with the old one. I have to get a new camera now because I cant find a matching cord so if I post a pic its one I already had. ::bummed::

Good pickin' Gino. Have you tried on-line at the camera manufacturer for the cord? Would be a good place to find one.

Just one more reason to not throw stuff away.

T.J. is right. It would be silly to get a new camera when you can most likely find that cord on the Internet (which one is it? The comm. cord from camera to PC??). What's the model number of the new camera?

Hey Dale, Thank you. I'm going on the assumption that it's a fruit knife, based on the pics I compared to in Blades Knives & their Values. Only difference there being, those are silver handled. So what I'm going to do, the Knife club starts meeting again this Weds. evening. I'll take it to the meeting and during show and tell I'm sure someone set's me straight. Bernard never misses a meeting. But thank you again for your comments and I sure do like owning such a nice knife.

Bernard will know. I think it is a quill knife, but I could be wrong.
My understanding was the fruit knives had silver blades because the acid in the fruit would cause the carbon steel blades to rust or tarnish if not properly cared for.

the robeson was a product of bait an switch..the guy had a bunch of china made knives at the yard sale...i asked where are the american knives...'oh, i have a bone handled knife in the house'...he comes back out with the robeson...dropped it in my hand...acting like i didn't want it cause it wasn't bone...
this knife is a handful...need a hand truck to pack it around.

BTW, the date on your camera wrong.

I got to where I don't even set my camera date any more.
It is a pain to change every time I put in fresh batteries.

...the batteries poop out after around two hours of non use.. pain in the butt...

hey IM, that was blademan's auction. i just bought a robeson brass easy open off him for $55. he claimed the main blade was 98% full, but when i got the knife in my hand, the lenght of the blade was 98%, but the egde was sharpened down to about 75%. i emailed him about this and he refunded me $15. or i just could have returned it. but me being an { easy } guy, i kept the knife and i took the partial refund. i thought that was a very generous offer from him...
