Picked this one up today.......little 25. Kassnar-Defender made in Italy.

.....actually I only have 5 that are keepers....the rest I sale or mostly trade.

For example....do you remember that big S&W 44mag. that I had not so long ago?.....well ,it now belongs to a fellow AAPK member.

Guess I should stop toot'n my on horn......I just love to trade.

There's something about those little .25s that draws me like a moth to a flame. The round it's self is not good for much more than scaring the uninitiated but those little guns...

Good find JohnnyR. It looks like it's in good condition.

I don't know how much you know about the pistol but being of a curious nature, I turned to my friend Google and found the following.

Sold many times and renamed several times since the birth of the company around 1875. Charles Daly was always an importer of firearms and January 29, 2010 closed it's doors and went out of business after 135 years.

The modern era of Charles Daly began in 1996 when K.B.I. Inc.'s president, Michael Kassnar acquired the brand. Kassnar and his family had been involved in importing firearms from around the globe for more than half a century and had actually been supplying Outdoor Sports Headquarters with Charles Daly products from 1976 to 1985.

The Kassnar-Defender appears to have been made in Italy. By whom?

Nice one JR! I've always liked smaller pistols even though their accuracy leaves much to be desired.
Here's a couple from my collection:
First is a Colt .25 Auto that was given to me by a co-worker many years ago.When he gave it to me it was still loaded and he didn't know!A very dangerous thing on a Colt .25 as there is no indicator as to whether there is a round in the chamber or that the gun is cocked.It belonged to his grandmother who kept it under the counter of her small grocery store.When I got it one of the original grips was broken and the only thing I could find was the pearl grips shown.They actually are better as they are thicker and fill your hand more comfortably.Serial # indicates a really early model.
Next is a Belgian made double action revolver of an unknown caliber(smaller than .22). Bought it from a friend and it was pretty pitted.The markings on it almost look like military proof marks but it is way too small to be anything issued.Maybe I'll find some history on it.
Next is a concealed hammer .22 marked "Baby Hammerless" and nickel plated.The K on the grips might indicate Keystone but I'm not sure.BTW the background is my usual one inch squares so it will give you an idea of the size of these gems.

My little .25 cal Astra - 1924 Hope skeeter shooter. They're all based on that little Colt.

Jerry, I am somewhat initiated and I am scared of that little round. It's powerful fertilizer for pushing up daiseys, or for getting wheelchair bound or, if your lucky, just for filling your shoes by gravity, ifn' ya know what I mean.

..I am not familiar with that brand.

...sure like that Astra.

....I use to have a 25 auto Taurus that had a flip up barrel like the Beretta's. That was one sweet little gun.

Bigdaddy....looks like our 2 pistols are atleast Cousins...have a lot in common.

..really like that holster too.

My ex-brother-in-law had/has one in .22 short, this was back around 1980 so I don't know if he still has it or not. Unless you knew what you were looking at, you couldn't tell. It was a vicious little whelp to shoot. Lot's of blast around the cylinder and you couldn't hit the side of a barn with it unless you were inside.

Yep.....I loved that damn thing!!

....had it several years....finally sold it to my best Friend..He has it for a few days then shoots twice at a bartender here in Tucson that is a popular hangout for bikers called the "Bashful Bandit"..He takes off and ditches the gun in some bushes. The following morning he calls me and tells me what happened and asks me to go find the gun....apparently someone found it before me.....so that was the end of that!!

JR.......My Dad carried that same pistol as a backup, I was with him when he got it.......1965 IIRC. It's blued and I still have the box, paperwork and cleaning kit.
Different Brand?

I bet it ain't been fired over 25 times, I still have have the original box of bullets he got with it also.

I would say same maker....but the importer could have whatever name that he wanted put on it.

..that would be my guess.

As you can see from the pics....it’s the same gun.....only one ,is blued.
