I*XL Rehandle
I like the old George Wolstenholm I*XL knives.
The old ones had such awesome gnarly stag on them they were among the most beautiful stag knives ever made.
This Wharncliffe is much newer, but I thought it would look good in stag, nice gnarly stag. The handle was shrinking a little and starting to warp.
I had this stag taper from a carving set. This piece came from the fork. I cut it in half, after getting it off the fork (no small task) & flattened the pieces on the sander.
Here are a couple quick scans. I will try to get good pics tomorrow.

Re: I*XL Rehandle
Thanks. One of the reasons I posted it was so other people could see what can be some with old material.
BTW- the old cement the cutlers used is a real bear to get off!
I had to heat the fork with an oxy-acetylene torch to get it hot enough to get the glue to loosen.
Tough stuff!!

Quite nice, Dale.
Looks very "modern", similar to some of the customs I see being produced by today's top makers. That stag came out great.
Excellent job.
