Official NRA Gauge ???????????

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Official NRA Gauge ???????????

Post by Mossdancer »

Any ideas as to when these were offered and the original price. I think they are for checking chamber size for various calibers. Any other ideas appreciated.

Gringo
Thank you for your post.
I stand ready to be wrong, I do not think this is a gauge for target measurements, the main reason would be there is no centering post so the accuracy would not be there for any of the multiple sizes.. I just cannot figure how the multiple calibers would function on the flat face of a target. I have looked at the target gauges for some time now. I think this is a gauge that would be correctly spelled gage for chamber sizing..
Just my opinion.

Call the NRA, they're pretty good about being able to locate someone who would know what you've got. The DCM (or whatever they're calling it these days) could probably also track it down for you.
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)

I think Gringo is right. Measure it and see if you have .22, .32, 38 & 45 plugs, all having the flange that is precisely the width of a scoring ring?
