Schrade Knives Made For Sears

This knife is the Craftsman #95074, a variation of the 194OT, the Gunstock Trapper Lockblade.
These are among my favorite knives made by Schrade.
IMO, the brass & black color scheme is especially attractive.

I haven't decided yet Gino.
I do have one that would be a user that I was going to put in my store, but I discovered the blade was loose. I have to drill the Swinden pin out and re-pin the blade.

First post here ....

My father in law just gave me this one. I think it bothers him that I've carried the same two slipjoints for the last 10 years. It's in great shape, some spotting on the backspring. Not sure if I can bring myself to use it.

Dale & GD - Is that the Parker eagle I see on the tang of that Craftsman?

GD - One of my aunts had one of those glass canoe's sitting on a table in her living room for as long as I can remember. Thanks for that bit of nostalgia.

Jerry; I believe that eagle is not the Parker eagle.As far as the canoe goes I picked it up at a garage sale thought it was neat as I do alot of canoeing

Thanks GD. Hard to tell from blowing the picture up that much. There was another Eagle I remember seeing etched on knife blades but I don't remember what brand of knife used it. I don't recall seeing one stamped on the tang like that other than Parker/Frost. Maybe I just need to see more knives.

Bob, you might have just solved one of my Craftsman mysteries!

I wondered if my knife was a Schrade 863 or a Camillus 72. WOW, could it be Schrade? (the swedge and jigging are slightly different.)

I keep looking at these two knives and the difference in the swedge and jigging and am now convinced that my 9494 is a Camillus 72.

I suppose I should not be surprised to know that Sears had multiple suppliers for a single model over a period of time, rather than a sole source.

PS: I've got whole a bunch of unknown Craftsman knives, mostly bone, that I would love to have identified as to their original maker. Should I flood the knife Q&A forum with Craftsman knives?

I think it might be an Ulster 63 Russell. I missed this discussion the first go around. I am thinking the jigging in the handles looks like the old Ulster Bonite style. The blade swedge like that was common to Camillus, Ulster, and even a few Schrades. I've mentioned this before, but I think some knives had handles and blades in one pattern that could have been sourced from more than one manufacturer.


Bonite was thinner and harder than Delrin

Sigh. Looks like it's not my user. After I explained the history and dated the knife for him, he decided he'd keep it.

I'd actually decided to gift it to my bro-n-law. To match the UH LB8 USA I gave him for Christmas. Good think I have until March to scrounge one up....

EDIT: Changed his mind. I have the craftsman back and in my pocket for the first time today. I do still want another for my bro-in-law, but I have time.

One more question. Sharpened my craftsman 9552 stockman for the first time last week. It took a very good edge. What stainless was Schrade using in these knives (67-69?).
