honest...there was ICE on my windshield this morning...an no they were not arresting mexicans... ::sotb::

snow on the mountain, ice an two shivering cats on the porch...

winter has arrived.

I am still wearing shorts here. There is a little rain, which is a blessing. Seems like a year since we had our last soaking rain. Really bad drought!

Snowed here at sea level last week, still some on the groound, was about 4" over 2 days.

hit 64 here in ne pa today, maybe 66 tomorrow..
what they call indian summer...snow will be here soon enuf, we had a blizzard 2 weeks ago.
seems like it is the same weather every year
16 yrs ago it was the same as these past few weeks. had a foot of snow then some rain and then high winds with 60 degrees. about 1000 trees did a domino effect on my land with all the snow on top and soggy ground on the bottom...

here winter is hiking time...snakes go to sleep...you can sit on a rock an not burn your bottom...

the first cold snap in the desert is always a bummer...seems like it comes out of no where.

Ice and fishing in the same sentence? This is a concept unfamiliar to me; unless of course you are icing down the fish you just caught or are grabbing a chilled libation from the cooler on the boat.

Down here, fishing is what one does when it is not hunting season. I subject myself to the cold only for deer and geese. I still haven't figured out how I was ever talked into laying in a frozen ditch waiting for geese to arrive.
