Friends of NRA version of the Uncle Henry 897UH Stockman knife. I was chairman of the local FONRA chapter for five years from the mid-1990's to about 1999, my brother served on the committee and helped me with it. He bought a three knife set of Uncle Henry knives off auction at one of our Friends of NRA banquets during that time period. He gave me this pocket knife and kept the two bigger hunting knives for himself (iirc a fixed blade and a folding hunter). I don't know if he still has them, if he does I will try to get a picture to post.

Hard part on those 'warehouse' finds at the
mom & pop stores is the timing of discovery.
Has to be right betwixt 'Not for Sale' and
'just sold them yesterday'.

Your 1998 6318 hopefully will be the dark chestnut.
Found mine in local hardware store Case display just
a few weeks before owner's son decided to take the
display home.

GD sounds like a steal. I like the chestnut so much more than it's replacement in amber (2001)
LB8s rare? really?? now is that like ebay rare or can't find one when you need it rare?

AB, from what I can surmise outside light early or late preferably with overcast must be more important than the camera.
Mine is a Koduck CX7430, at the time one step above the basic
model only difference is/was 4.0 megapixels vs 3.0

The 77UH, the muskrat pattern was made with a Ducks Unlimited etch and with a DU shield.
The 77UH did not appear in the Schrade catalogs.

There were a few that showed up on ebay without the blade etch and with the standard Uncle Henry shield.
Here is one I picked up in 2007.

Even though it was in the Ducks Unlimited special editions, they are still very hard to find even with the Ducks Unlimited markings.

This is a 77UH Ducks Unlimited version. I can't show the blade etch as some bozo tried to buff it off.

I only own two Uncle Henry knives (usually prefer the Old Timer version); a 897UH NRA Stockman and a 833UH Prairie Jack.

DU are fairly uncommon or just the 77UH in particular?
I have the 34/152 Gift Set in Uncle Henry Duck dressin'.




Many years ago eekbay seller had several Schrade items incl 3-4 sets listed.
Pictures for the above set were so dark any details were obscured.
Based on the thorough description and the condition of all his other Schrade
Sets which were well illustrated I chose to take a chance on the DUck set.
Most everyone seemed to be shying away from it concentrating on his
other items & I'm glad they did.

What I meant is that the 77UH is a non-catalog pattern, i.e., it was never listed in the Schrade catalogs as a standard pattern.

It was made for Ducks Unlimited as a SFO and most all of the 77UHs you see have the DU shield & etch. There were a small number of them made with the Uncle Henry shield that look like a standard production UH, (see the first picture of my previous post), but it was never a catalog pattern.

The bottom line is that any 7UH is fairly rare & the ones without the DU etch/shield are the most rare.

I have no production info on which to base that statement, just my observations of watching, collecting and researching Schrade knives for the last 7-8 years. If someone does have production numbers, please do share them. I would love to see them.
