Send it to Buck, they will probably replace it for free.

Re: 420HC Broken tip??
I would call them, tell them I broke the tip and ask them how much they would charge you to replace it.
I expect they will tell you to send it in and fix it for free, but they may charge you a very reasonable fee, but I doubt it.
Their phone number is on the page this link goes to:

Re: 420HC Broken tip??
dogg - Check your other thread on this subject. They charge $10 for blade replacement. I recently checked on it and sent one for repair. PM your email address and I'll send a copy of the email I got back from them.

Re: 420HC Broken tip??
If youre determined to reprofile the blade, start by grinding the back of the blade first. It's flat, so the contour is easy to follow and it's also a better way to determine the length before you tackle the edge. Etching it out in pencil usually helps too.

Re: 420HC Broken tip??
WELL I did it
it's a tool pouch knife anyway but I did what I wanted to do which is to beef up the tip, this was fun I can see myself doing this for the guys in the trade when i'm retired but it was scary starting to hit the blade with a wet grinder.I used a Camillus Cubscout knife to etch out the blade tip(thanx Elvis)
