Rehandle a 77OT.
Got this 77OT, as new, got grinder across middle pin, from a seller in the US.
Asked why but he didn't know, nearly all his knives are the same.
I thought they may be seconds/rejects, anyone throw any light on this.
Anyway I reckoned I'd get one and either put different handles on it or use handles off
an older 77 I've got in the junk pile.
Will post pic's when she's back on deck.
Gary.

Looks like something happened during the hafting process, so they were kicked out as seconds. Just MHO.
Make sure to show us the finished product.

Dale, No XX or grinder marks on tang.
Just what you see on handle on pile side, and missing the sheild.
In hand I can't see a thing out of place.
Makes me think there was some defect on the middle pin.

Re: Rehandle a 77OT.
seconds usually had an overwritten or obliterated tang stamp, maybe airport security confiscations that they intentionally damaged (they are by law supposed to be destroyed, not sold by the bucket fulls on ebay). Or a rehandle project somebody wimped out on?

Re: Rehandle a 77OT.
Got him finished except not happy with the middle pin.
Used the pin spinners for the first time, not happy!!!
Used a set of handles off a 8OT that was as new with broken main blade.
Be a good EDC..
