AF2011-A1 Double Barrel .45 Cal. Semi-Auto

It looks like dual-wielding isn’t just for FPS video gamers anymore. Italian gun manufacturer Arsenal Firearms has created the world’s first double-barreled .45 to commemorate the 100th birthday of the famous Colt 1911-A1. Depicted in the video above, instead of having to hold two separate pistols, you can now combine them into a single weapon. Of course we’re not entirely sure how accurate these suckers are, but the manufacturer claims that the gun can deliver to bullets 1-2 inches apart (depending on the distance to the target). Regardless of the ridiculous amount of stopping power, the gun looks excellent, and is at least twice as menacing as a normal pistol.
Born out of an idea from Swiss armorer Vivian Mueller about ten years ago, the AF2011-a1, or “Twenty-Eleven” as it’s nicknamed, took about six-months of hardcore modeling and development before it became a reality. Since the company didn’t just slap together two Colt-style pistols, a lot of the hardware had to be machined by hand to create a working mechanism. For ammunition, the gun uses two straight-stacked clips that feed directly into each of the dual chambers. Buyers of the weapon can choose how to shoot said ammo by having one solid trigger that fires both rounds at the same time, or two separate and independent levers that allow each chamber to be emptied independently of the other.
There is no word on pricing on the AF2011-a1 at this time, but there is plenty of discussion going on about the accuracy of the weapon. Arsenal claims that it’s engineered in a way that gives it a pretty accurate spread, but no video of bullets hitting a target is shown. With the recoil of two .45 caliber bullets being fired at the same time, a person would have to be a steady shot to hit their desired target. Of course, collectors and gangsters both would want to get their hands on one for the coolness factor alone. Me, I’ll stick to having Master Chief doing my dual-wielding the old fashioned way!

jerryd6818, That's an interesing piece. It has 2 triggers, wonder if both have to be pulled to fire both bbls.? It was ejecting both sides simultaneously as that ol' boy was firing it. It's unique but not for me! Treefarmer

Not for me either TF. They say it comes with either one or two triggers. I don't see the advantage of two triggers. The slide is mono-block so if you just pull one trigger, firing one side or the other, it will just strip unfired ammo from the other magazine. Unless each trigger is set up to fire both barrels and in that case what's the use of dual triggers. It's just an over complicated curiosity and worthless as a silk shirt on a sow. Well, maybe not completely worthless. It stirred up at least one dumb a-- gun fearing liberal. (The individual who wrote the article.)

It wouldn't be a bad idea if I had fingers twice as long as they are now and enjoyed getting hit on both sides of my forehead at once from ejected shell casings. I passed on a Para Ordnance 14 because it was uncomfortable to grasp because of the staggered box magazine.I would have loved to buy a left handed stainless Randall .45 but couldn't find or afford one. I'll stick with my Mk 1 Detonics .45 and be content to get hit just on the right side forehead.

If a person was to buy the model with one trigger that shoots both barrels at once, they would then need the same class Federal Firearms License as a fully automatic weapon. The Federal law states that ANY firearm that fires more than one round with one single pull of the trigger is considered a fully automatic weapon. Them old boys at the B.A.T.F. would be bouncing on everyone that had one with no fully automatic firearm Fed. Firearms License. Of coarse them old boys get their feathers ruffled up at the least little thing and kinda make their own views and uses of the laws up as they go along. Even heard of them charging a 13 year old boy for making a plastic bottle bomb that he put aluminum foil and toilet bowl cleaner in a empty coke bottle and set it off in his own back yard, after he learned how to do it on the www computer. Stated the the B.A.T.F. was thinking about up grading the charges to the boy being a Terrorist and committing Terrorist acts on American soil.
I guess they would have just taken me out and shot me for making a tator gun and setting off carbide in an empty coffee can on Halloween night when I was a teenager.
Still can't hear good to this day and that was many many years ago. Oh wait...y'all hold on ......somebodys beating on my door screaming ATF, SEARCH WARRANT! I'll be right back in just a minnnnn
(handcuffs clicking sound barely heard under the repeated thumping sounds of Mag lights and night sticks sworping a man's body like a baseball bat, with the echo of the pumping of two shotguns while they're stuck in both a man's ears at the same time , and several loud voices yelling TATOR GUN AND SETTING OFF CARBIDE HUH? WE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU ALI AKEEM AIMUS!)

You're too funny Aimus. Trouble is, for every 100,000 like you and me, there's that one... and there goes the neighborhood. If we could learn to whup up on that one and leave the other 100,000 alone... but naaah. Where would be the fun in that. Plus, you can't get a big buck budget for just one individual.
Sigh.

That's pretty wild. I was watching a movie about a month ago and one of the main characters had a pistol like this one. Of course it was Hollywood and he was shooting vampires. With both barrels going off at the same time I bet it's a handful.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Have y'all heard the echo from pulling both triggers on a double barrel shotgun?
Wonder if or why not this pistol does/doesn't have the rebounding echo.

Aimus raises an interesting point although I find it hard to believe that the manufacturer would go to all the trouble of designing and then building this weapon without giving a thought to the firearms laws;especially in today's climate of gun haters.Aimus Moses wrote:If a person was to buy the model with one trigger that shoots both barrels at once, they would then need the same class Federal Firearms License as a fully automatic weapon.
