The city of Ripley, in the state of W.V. boasts the largest 4th of July celebration in the state. In 1979, a local businessman and knife dealer had 50 of these 6165 folding hunters commissioned for that years celebration. On the shield side, an american eagle is engraved nearest the main blade. On the pile side, the state of W.V. sits proudly on the bolster. There is an accompanying letter with this knife that tells the story of how one of the citizens from town flew to New York to be on the "Today" show, and invited them to the celebration, which they kindly accepted. The segment was aired that 4th of july, 1979. Just thought I would share, thanks.
