No prizes, no points, no prestige just try to be right. I will give the answer in a few days. Take a guess or try to figure it out.
What year was the Christmas depicted in these photo's celebrated. There are a couple of clues.

english band leader ray noble played during the thirties.

rca victor introduced the d-22 in 1935, i think.

What is this a breakdown picture of. There is one glaring clue.

Check the manual pull back cocking mechanism. Its not mauser.

Great ID Adam. The book was close also. It was from the 1940 Bluejackets manual.

I really had one of these. It was a BLAST, untill I got my 305 scrambler.
