A Few Customized Knives For The OKCA Show

Post by orvet »

April 14 & 15 is the OKCA (Oregon Knife Collectors Association) Show in Eugene Oregon, http://www.oregonknifeclub.org/okcashow.html This is the only show I sell at.

I have been trying to put together a few customized knives to take to the show. Some will be in my store until the show.

The first is a Camco Barlow #551. I took out the pen blade and made it a single blade and put some stag handles on it. The stag came originally from the Henckel’s factory in Germany.

This is a Camillus #16 jack. It has a worn out pen blade which I removed and made it a single blade jack. I added root beer jigged bone from Culpeppers. I also put rope file work on the back spring. The knife is probably from the1950s or early 1960s.

This is an Ulster jack that also had a worn pen blade. I removed the pen blade and replaced the celluloid handles with some stag, also from the Henckel’s factory. This knife is only 2-3/4” closed. A cute little fellow, imho.

This one is a Camillus #23 equal end jack, probably from the 1950s. I replaced the handles with stag.

I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Beautiful work, Dale! Everyone one of those is suited to be a workhorse OR a work of art! IMO, that's the perfect description of a great knife. Very well done!! ::tu::

They'll sell like hot cakes Dale! They are all very nice indeed but that #23 certainly rings my bell!! I love that pattern as is, but that is now one seriously good looking knife!!

Thanks guys, I am glad you'll like them!
I think there are a couple more on my bench that I did not get finished before the show.
Stick around, I will get them finished some day when I get rested up from the show.

The Camillus jack conversion w/ rootbeer scales is excellent.

I have an Imperial I've been thinking about doing something similar with.
