Re: And Then There Was Some Of My Favorite Rock
Written and sung by Bob Dylan for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, everybody and his brother has released a cover of it but the version done by Gun's 'n Roses is what does it for me. Here's the original by Dylan.

Hey Johnny, have you heard Kid Rock doing Fat Bottom Girls, the old Queen song, on Youtube? Check it out. I love the way he does it. He puts a kinda souther Rock-a-Billy sound to it. Jerry, I agree with ya, G&R did the best version of Knocking On Heavens Door than anyone else I've heard do it.

Re: And Then There Was Some Of My Favorite Rock
Thanks Jerry & JR. Alot of the music my 26 year old son tries to get me to listen to, just hurts. Almost makes me wanna go out a woop on somebody!
But these guys struck a chord from the minute I heard 'em. I've heard tones in their music that cover everything from 50's at the hop to progressive country. And, pretty much everything in between. You just don't find that kind of range in one band very often. I really don't go to concerts anymore, but I think i'd hafta make an exception in their case.
I did make it to the Styx-REO Speedwagon concert in Branson. (2007) They still rock!! That made number 8 for Styx and number 6 for REO. I thought i'd feel out of place, but it was surprising how many people my age showed up. Once a rocker, always a rocker, I reckon.

I haven't seen any Eagles yet and of course, they're like potato chips, you can't have just one.
