Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
JACKNIFEBEN,
I can't help with any information on your beautiful knife but I would say it is a ....beautiful knife.
I bought this smart little (2 7/8") U.S.A. Boker the other day on the bay.
I payed a whopping $12. 50 for this knife. That includes shipping. I don't know what the bidders were afraid of.
Nickel silver pins, brass liners. lined bolsters and cracked ice celluloid covers.
Very tight little knife. Love the dog legs.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Awesome knives, everyone. Gino, I really like that elk.
Here's one I came across today and just had to have it. It's made by William Elliot & Co. It's in rough shape and I paid more than I should have for it, but I just loved the bolsters and the look of the knife (kind of reminds me of a mushroom or a baseball bat depending on how you view it). I'm thinking about finding a knife maker who can copy the frame to make me an EDC.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Here are this weekend's finds:
The first one has blades similar to the small metal handled manicure knives;a master blade;a cap lifter/screwdriver;and a file/nail cleaner. The end has a rather powerful(10X at least)magnifier that folds out.The handles are a pot metal casting with advertising(so far no info on the company). There is also a special screw in the end that has no apparent function.Price:$2.50.
Next is a Wenger SAK with clear scales and advertising acompany called Rothrist.Never sharpened as most SAKs I find.Price: $3.00
Third is a Hammer Brand switchblade.Nice full blade but some pitting and a lot of blade wobble.Early style with the two thin back springs as opposed to a single wide one.Price:$4.00.
Fourth is the smallest pair of multipliers I have ever seen;about 2 3/4" long. Probably Chinese but unusual.Price:$1.00
Fifth is a Gerber I'm not familiar with but it is in great shape.Price:$5.00.
EDIT:Pictures are out of sequence due to unforseen computer gremlins.

Thanks, Johnnie. You're right. It does look like a pestle to me now that you pointed it out.johnnierotten wrote:Nice looking old knife,Dave....reminds me of a pestle.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I didn't find it, my Dad did.
It is a Tramontia Machete of 22 3/4" overall with about 16" of cutting area.
It's pretty dang rusty right now. But nothing that won't keep it from being useful again!

GD - nice knives, and that Buck is pristine, you need to post it down below in the Buck section.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Found this one yesterday while cleaning out my storage shed. I expected to find a few more but no luck. I think I looked through everything. I killed a lot of ants and roaches and now I can see the floor so at least I want step on a snake.
The knife has USA on the blade but no other marks. Plastic handles and cheap bolsters (covers). Looks like Imperial but no marks. it's 3 inches closed and 5 and 3/8 inches open. OK snap but alignment is poor and both blades have some wobble. I believe it will tighten and clean up OK.

Chief, that knife looks very similar to a 1960's era Providence Cutlery Co. knife I own.
