TL-29 Spalted Sugar Maple

Post by Toejammer »

Had these scales awhile, just decided to do something with em today. TL-29 conversion, used brass pins on the handles to set off the wood. Love the crazy grain figures on this wood. Used tung oil for a finish, buffed with #000 steel wool.

I dunno, I'm kinda liking the tung oil for now. I don't want to darken them any more than they are.

Thanks all !

I'm on the 4th coat of tung oil, and it's starting to get some depth and color. Too bad the camera doesn't pick it up. ::facepalm::
