Me too! Just got mine poured and its still too hot to taste. I know it is going to be great though.
Gotta get cleaned up as I have an appt to go look at an original bullet knife a guy wants to pedal.

You know, I wondered about the spelling on that word. I decided I had it right and in thinking about the origin of the use of 'peddler' to describe a salesman, I'm guessing it was was used to describe a door to door salesman who might have been on a bicycle.
That's my story and I am sticking to it.

My first cup wasn't until tonight. I am a teacher and my summer vacation is a mess of broken habits and new experiences. I slept in this morning, responded to a distress call from my son (long story, not worth getting into), didn't fire up the coffee pot at all today, and suffered foggy headaches all day long. Finally, SweetPea noticed how grumpy I was, and asked if she could make me some coffee tonight.

Just had a refreshing two mugs of Folger's in my second favorite mug, a big-un with the old-style Texas flag screen-printed on it.

I just drew my first cup. Not much going on today. Likely to have BBQ lunch today with a collecting buddy, MMmmm!
By the way, I took the Bullet knife I looked at yesterday on consignment. It was a really nice Remington until someone used a Dremmel or maybe even tried to use a grinder on it.

Yep, I used to go to the original one which is in Leon Springs, just north of San Antonio. My workplace was nearby so we tried to go there fairly often. San Antonio is not a city known for great BBQ places and Rudy's was good. Some of their franchise joints are worse than bad so I rarely go there since moving to the Austin area. There are some local joints where really excellent BBQ can be had. Brisket is the specialty here and this is pretty well considered the BBQ capital of Texas. I usually go to a little town a few miles east of here, Taylor, Tx, to a place called Louie Muellers. It is consistently excellent.

Bill Millers... We were in San Antonio in '09 for my nieces graduation from Air Force recruit training and it seemed like there was a Bill Millers on every corner. Tried it once. BAD!!

Loved the Rudy's out close to Sea World.

Yep, Bill Millers is not very good but I have a good Bill Miller story. One year while we lived in SA the city council or the school board fired all the school crossing guards in a budget problem. Guess who stepped up to the plate and donated $250,000 so the kids had crossing guards? Bill Miller did and he was my citizen of the year for the very generous and civic minded gesture.

Up early, sipping coffee and itching - think I got into some poison ivy while building a pergola last weekend - got into something and this Walgreens anti-itching cream don't do much good!!

Old Hunter, The coffee maker is makin' that gurgglin' noise so it's time for a cup, but before I go sit on the front porch, let me say, my wife has found that apple cider vinegar will take care of poision ivy as quick as any thing. She applies the vinegar with a cotton ball several times a day and it is soon gone. Might work for you. Treefarmer

OH, run the extremity under as hot of water as you can stand to break the blisters, wash area with soap and warm water, then apply anti-itch cream. It's not pleasant, but the blisters have to be broken for the anti-itch cream to effect the area below them.
When I was about 7 or 8, I got poison ivy in my bloodstream. I was a real mess. Along with a weeks worth of daily injections of something, the above method was prescribed by my Dr.
Needless to say, I can spot the 3 leaf "devil vine" from a mile away now!

Oooh! Poison Ivy? When I was a kid, I could get to itchin' just by hearing you talk about it. I had to take a shot at the beginning of every summer or I would break out just by looking at it across the hard road. My paternal grandfather on the other hand could walk through the smoke of a burning fence row full of Poison Ivy vines and never scratch a lick.

Thanks guys - I combined your advice Treefarmer and White Buffalo.- I used a bar of Lava soap and hot water to scrub the blisters open, then rubbed vigorously with apple cider vinegar (that is an enlightening experience after the lava scrub) and then allowed my poison patches of skin to air dry and finally applied the anti-itch cream. Guess what, I ain't pretty (well, I wasn't pretty before the poison ivy) but I'm not itching anymore - THANKS! Being as it is after 1700 hours I am sipping a Yuengling Black and Tan. Cheers.

PS This modified Pergola (I added a roof) is what caused all my trouble - a few weeks ago my wife said, "will you slap something together for me so I can sit in my rope swing and read my books?" Well, I'm no "slapper together" type of home improvement guy; if you can't park a deuce and a half on it then it is not heavy duty enough for me - but somewhere in all that ground cover lurks mosquito's, yellow jackets, and poison ivy!

With my first cup on Sunday morning I like to clean-up my knives that I use during the work week When I've been layed off it's good to get back in the swing again.It doesn't look like these Vantage's are going to cut it at work(too lite) I like the heft of the 112 + 110 ya know ya have a cutter at hand with these babies
