Smoky Day

We have four or five forest fires around us. The nearest is 30 miles away, the rest are hundreds of miles away including the Colorado fires. The smoke has been pretty thick for the last week, making for some really red sunrises and sunsets but also making it harder to breathe. I snapped this one at 6AM this morning.

i've been out to devils tower when i did sturgis once. great country, kinda like a completely different world than the one i am used to here in ne pa. very disheartening to see that devastation going on out west..
fires have a way of cleaning up the envirorment, but the people have to suffer for it. ironic thing is that a lot of these fires are set by people themselves...

arizona is on fire...two big ones to the south...the one in new mexico, colorado...and all that damn smoke ends up in the verde river basin...

cough.cough. cough.

pray for rain...
