Re: First cup!
Morning gents, Happy 4th of July! Sipping the first one and relaxing, going to do the lawn work before its too hot (gonna wait until 0800 out of respect for the neighbors) then heading down to New Bern NC this evening - the town conducts a terrific 4th of July celebration at Union Point on the confluence of the Trent and Neuse Rivers. I think tonight they are featuring the 440th Army Band and a Marine Corps chorus for a performance of patriotic music, followed by fireworks over the river - much fun.

Mornin' Colonel. Sounds like you have a great day planned but you have to wait until after colors to get started on the lawn work. No lawn work to do here, the lawn is about burnt up.

Jerry, this is the first summer in four years we aren't in a drought, actually 4" ahead of the normal average rainfall YTD, but due to the heat wave I still had to water several spots of my centipede last night so it could stand up and be cut this morning!

Re: First cup!
Mornin' Colonel. Big week ahead of you?
I met my daughter yesterday, half way between here and there and picked up my 14, soon to be 15 year old grandson. He's going to stay with me for a week. I was worried about entertaining him but the week is filling up pretty fast. I need to get my cereal finished and my shower taken so I can get him up and in the shower. We have to go up to the VFW this morning for that memorial ceremony for my buddy.
A hearty 'good morning' to any late bloomers that show up this morning.
Edit: Well lookie there. Scott snuck in there while I was typing. Mornin' Scott.

Re: First cup!
Jerry, Looking forward to lunch today with my best buddy from high school; he is a retired Army doctor who practices in MO now. He is making an infrequent trip back home to visit his parents and remaining friends in the area. Hitting the road on TUE - THUR for building material sales, then working on a rental unit on the coast on Friday (installing new toilets). Busy week - but looking forward to it all.

Howdy, boys ... hope y'all are well ....
I went to bed last night with the thunder, lightning and rain playing beautiful music across the sky and on my roof. I awoke this morning to a bright blue sky and wet grass, and a hay field that has perked up considerably since yesterday!
