Maher and Grosh

Post by Smifman »

Hi folks-
I just wrote a lengthy intro and then some how made it all go away. I just wanted to say hello, and ask a question: I recently bought (at a yard sale) a folder with the mark "Maher & Grosh-Razor Steel" etched into the blade, and I can find very little about Maher & Grosh on the web. Does anybody know about these knives? It has two blades and a single bolster; Wooden scales with brass screws, and it appears that the liners (liner) is a single piece that wraps around and covers the springs. I'll try to post a picture if anybody is interested.
Thanks in advance,
Lester

I can't tell you a lot, but Maher & Grosch was a hardware firm, and they contracted knives from various sources, but always high quality. Yours is a Miller Bros. made knife, with their patented screw on handles, and a covered backspring.

I just noticed this thread is a year old.... ::dang::

I have a John Primbel Belnap hardware with screw on smooth bone or stag scales.
