Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
That's a different looking Okapi. I had only seen the one with the ring pull release for the blade.
Forged on the anvil of discipline.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I "found" a Camco equal end with tip bolsters a spear and a bottle opener and right about 3 or 3.25 long.
If I even HAD $50 to spend... (I DO NOT!) I would have laughed and walked away.
There was a Large Ranger Stockman, A Large and a smaller Case Stockman and some other stuff.
I imagine it will all be there next Saturday as well if the Camco was any indication.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Sweet haul, Rocky!
I found this one in an antique store this past Friday. It's not my usual brand, but who among us would pass on an American Shear & Knife Co congress jack? Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it or trade it. The handles are ebony. It didn't show well in the photos, but it has a blade etch that reads "American Shear & Knife Co" above "Our Best." The "Our Best" part has an arrow going through it.

Outstanding! Wonder how it was carried to not wear the handles more.

Love those Texas Jacks, and that Case sure is sweet.
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Yeah, just soaked them in Butcher block mineral oil overnight and rinsed with warm soapy water to clear debris from frame and joints. I didn't touch the blades, to easy to overdo it.johnnierotten wrote:Cleaned up quite nicely.
