Found use for.......

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I've heard of people taping those envelopes to a brick (but I have never done it or seen it done, so is probably just urban legend). As for the telemarketers (political calls now, surveys etc.) I just lay the handset to the phone down and hang it back up later.
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

That's too funny, I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do that. ::ds::
My wife said they don't care, maybe they don't, but I got a kick out of it.

Most of the time anymore, bricks won't go through--but yeah, it has been done once or twice, or so I've heard . . . .

I spent a couple years trying to get a company to remove me from their mailing list, finally started writing notes requesting that I be removed from their lists, putting the note in the envelope, and taping it to a brick wrapped in butcher paper. After about 10-15, someone actually read the note. I got a very nice call from a lawyer asking me to stop sending bricks; I explained why I was doing it, that the brick was just to get the attention of anyone at the company with an IQ above room temperature, and that I'd really like for them to stop sending me mail 2x a week. I haven't heard from them since.
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)
