Charlie, is it a jewelers vise?RobesonsRme.com wrote:I've got another one that belonged to Sarah's Dad, too. It's German. I cannot read the name. It was marked with a decal, but it's partially gone. Still has all its original blue paint.
It's quite small. It fits in the palm of my hand.

Dimitri, I was just wondering if you ever got your old vise fixed? I hope I am not turning into a vise collector, but I have picked up 4 vises and 2 anvils this summer, as well as reading all I can find on them..... Knives are much easier to handle.

Bret,
I have not done anything with the old broken one yet. I may have it welded or just keep it as is, I won`t throw it away
I know what you mean, I have two large anvils I bought a few years ago, and I just bought a large vise 2 weeks ago
This stuff is too large and heavy to handle

Re: What A Shame..............
MB, I must have missed your question about the little vise.
I have no idea what a jeweler's vise would look like, but this one looks like any old bench vise, except it's quite small.
As I said, it fits in the palm of my hand.
Since I had to purchase a new computer, I've not had a functional scanner. Canon has not produced a driver for Windows-7. I'm most likely going to have to buy a new one.
I did take some photos of the vise with my cell phone. I'll load them on the computer and post them here.
You guys should really stop talking about picking up so many new vises, it's hurting my images of you.

Charlie,
Here are some pictures of an antique hand held jewelers vise, note the unique brass ball at the end.
They can have a clamp on the bottom to clamp to a table as well.
I would like to see pictures of the one you have when you get a chance

I picked this up at the flea market also. For $8.00. It does have a piece of the mounting flange broken, but is in otherwise good shape.
