This is a Duck-pond - Show your pet Schrade Ducks off here.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I didn't think I had anything to contribute and then I remembered this SC503. It's not DU and it's nothing special but it does have ducks on the handle.

Here is a little oak handled Schrade that is the same as was made for the limited edition Ducks Unlimited run, but without the shield or blade etch, listed as SDU104...from what I was able to gather, this was listed in the 2004 Schrade catalog, and was among the last knives run through regular productin in the Ellenville NY factory...
knife is in unused condition, and is a whole lot prettier than that pic represents....

Mike you did not miss a thing, I did! ::dang:: Schrade's last flyer or catalog was as above 2003-2004.
I would say your un-finished knife is a 2003 SDU104 (http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... &mode=view) I have most of the 2003 and 2004 Ducks as listed above. iI do not have a 104 Duck knife.

I can not see as well as when I was 18, old age starts to make us see things that are not there...Ken

Aussie,

I don't collect the DU knives but that is a knife that has always impressed me ::nod::

Schrade really nailed it with that one ::tu::
