Was gonna post over in hunting and fishing but thought better of it and came here. Funny thing is the sheath looks like it could be 30-40 years old. Then you take out the treasure, on top of it all it's a Schrade Walden. Take a look, it is as found.

I don't know what you paid, but that is certainly an excellent knife, outstanding both functionally and aesthetically. Those very early SW 227 knives came in two iterations. One had much thicker "staglon" handles than the later version. Remarkably thicker. No one I have talked to has been aware of this or seemed to care, but I, who have a pretty good collection of these "hunters," feel that it is worth mentioning. Although I mostly use a fixed blade knife when hunting, I have also used one of these folding hunters more than once, and I really think they are not only useful but very charming on several levels. Good score!

A Hearty Thanks to all. In answer to tongueriver I had to pay to much in my opinion but it was necessary to enable my purchase of a model 1917 ACCo Bolo WW I knife that I really didn't need but it was so neat. I will post it up in the Mil. Forum when I get the chance, maybe before nightfall.
