Re: Rough Rider Scout
I have got to git my hands on one of those Rough Rider Scouts.Grate looking knife.I have only one RR pocket knife and I do like it.I buy there throwing knives and I love them.Hear is a pic of the pocket knife.Just in case some one out there is into knife throwing like me hear is a pic of one of there patterns of throwers. My son and I throw this model.I have for a year or so now and I'm very happy with the blade. The handles should have bin put on with screws not pins so they could be changed out but other than that it is a good cheap knife that holds up well.I would never hand my True Flight to some one to throw but at about $7.00 a knife you can let any one who wants to throw jump right in.

Thank you. There not in that good of shape now butt the have held up very well.I just wish they where made so you could change them out.Win I do half to change them I am going to use screws not pins.Or just do away with the scales all to gather.johnnierotten wrote:Nice looking stag on your Lock Back....also like the micarta scales on the thrower as well.

Re: Rough Rider Scout
Most throwers nowadays ..have no scales.
...taking them off will throw the weight off a bit....may affect your accuracy?

Re: Rough Rider Scout
I thought it might.
....I haven't thrown any in years...but I do remember breaking handles off and it would throw my aim & rotation off.

Re: Rough Rider Scout
My grandson wants a set of throwing knives for his birthday next month. Sounds like you would recommend the Rough Riders?

Re: Rough Rider Scout
Yes Sr Jerry D, I would. You cant go wrong. You will need to blunt the point a bit win you first git them. They are ground to long and narrow at the end.If you don't it will brick on its own.if you let that happen you could end up with different length knives. In all I take about 1/4 inch off the knives win I git them and have not had the problem of them bricking since. It was not much of a problem just grind it off a bit and you will have a grate knife. The other models of throwers I have from RR do not need this grinding just that diamond pattern.Hope you and your grandson has as much fun as my boy and I do with the knives.jerryd6818 wrote:My grandson wants a set of throwing knives for his birthday next month.
