Excellent fleamarket finds, g-dogg!! That Imperial scout and Frontier powderhorn look like they should clean up nicely!

I almost forrgot these two. The fish knife is a KABAR that someone rehandled. It probably was gassed out celuloid. The Melon tester is a Schrade razors edge that was in a box of kitchen knives that I paid 10 bucks for.

I'd say you had an excellent day wazu!! 3 Bucks in one day?! Now that's gettin' 'er done. Looks like they did a pretty nice job rehandlein' the Kabar, i'm not sure, but I think the slabs may be mahogany.

Love the new find guys!

Picked this up a few days ago. I've never heard of Star Cutlery but WOW! This is one solid and beautiful knife. Any ideas on the year or the company? Thanks ahead of time.

I believe it was made in the mid to late 70's in Japan.

Did a quick search on eBay...came up with this.
All of the Stars Brand knives that I have seen were stamped Japan.

Here is where they usually are.....its strange that yours doesn't have it.

I'm pretty sure that all of them were made in Japan.....I love them..high quality knives.

Dang Johnnie, now I'm even more interested! I know others have very strong opinions about knives from China/Japan, but I swear I am impressed. This is so well made. Related to material and hand construction it might rival some USA made knives.

I agree...they are made better then some US companies.

.....Japan & China are not even in the same class when it comes to cutlery...Japan is way better.

I'm with johnny, Japan steel and knives are pretty decent, look at the Kai USA Ltd. knives made for Kershaw in Japan. I would put them up against any American or German steel. Not even in the same church as Chinese made knives.

I'm going to be asleep pretty dang soon but I found a couple yesterday.

Two "Coyote over PROV, U.S.A." Lockbacks 4" closed with about 2 3/4" of cutting surface.
One is pretty tarnished and rough and one has a snap top sheath but has had a grinder kind of scar the blade.

And a G. Schrade's Stainless Steel Hunting & Fishing knife at almost 5" overall. The blade has a scaler on top of it and has been sharpened down pretty severely!

These Coyote knives both have some play in the pivot but almost no blade wiggle...
