JK Custom (sort of)

Post by glennbad »

I follow a custom knife maker on another forum. His name is John Kiedaisch, and he makes primarily fixed blades. I have some great examples of his work.

Anyway, he offered a pattern for sale as a finished blank, but the idea was for buyers to finish the knives ourselves and compare our work afterward. I used some dark red linen micarta I had, along with some gray spacer material. This pattern is called the "Last Resort Knife +". Here it is, from start to finish:

He does these in 01 steel. This was a fun project to work on, I haven't done a fixed blade in quite a while.

(For those who I have projects ongoing with right now, I am working on your knives also during this time. This was just a fill-in between glue drying and stuff)
