Good luck with the Dermatologist - just love getting those little guys frozen off! About done with my first cup, going to start the big pot soon, have an office morning and then lunch with an old ARNG/hunting buddy - looking ahead to a nice (relaxing) day today.

Re: First cup!
I'm a little late this morning. I was up at 0500. Tried going back to bed for a couple of hours but that didn't work. Didn't get over to AAPK until now because it's Thursday and that's the day Sgt. Grit's weekly newsletter comes out. Gotta keep my priorities straight.
A fine, fine day to all.

Been sitting here reading, no coffee yet, waiting until 0700 when the diner opens - going for a cheese biscuit and coffee then. Plan to go to the local gunshow today IF the big knife dealer is there (got a buddy going to call me if the dealer is set up), otherwise just going to work in the yard today.

Re: First cup!
Scott, its really more upscale than a diner - it is really a full service restaurant (great seafood lunch buffet on Friday's - wife and I ate there yesterday). The owner stays up late with the evening trade, so he opens at 0700 - obviously no morning trade with fishermen or hunters!
Ps Have a great day yourself Scott!

Good AM all. Another great day shaping up. Cooler weather appears to have blessed The Great Midwest for the foreseeable future.
Got the lawn mowed yesterday
and the battery changed in the bike. Found out the reason that bike has been such a hard starter all the time I've had it is the battery terminal screws/(bolts?) were so lose I could unscrew them with my fingers. It starts now, just about by thinking of hitting the starter button.

Re: First cup!
Sorry I'm so late.
Actually I rolled out before 5 am, grabbed a quick shower then drove to church to prepare the monthly men's breakfast. The guy who normally is lead cook was out of town so I filled in for him. We served sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, fried and scrambled eggs, regular or decaf.
Funny how the same ones who did the cooking got to clean up afterwards as well.
Have a great Saturday.

Re: First cup!
It's a forum Phil. Not like we were sitting around, taking up space at the restaurant waitin' on you. You just get here when you can get here (unless Scott says different
) Sounds better than the breakfast I had.
Even in the churches there's givers and takers. Most all the work gets done by the givers while the takers sit around on their backside and enjoy the benefits. I don't quite get that but life is life.

Re: First cup!
The 1st cup was finished off early this morning while it was raining. Just back in the house after mowing for a couple hours and read Philco and jerryd's comments about folks and their observations. We do a Wednesday night supper at church and very few help with the clean up but it's not just a church thing. Lots of folks never learn to follow through with what they enjoy. There's always a lot of work to pull off a special event or even a regularly scheduled event. Everybody enjoys the end result but very few realize what it takes to get there. There is an ol' sayin' that I've found mostly true and it applies to most things we participate in. "80% of the fish are caught by 20% of the fishermen, just as 20% of the deer hunters kill 80% of the deer." This will hold up statisticaly in lots of churches, only 20% support their church by giving faithfully, while 80% ride for free or maybe $5 ever now and then. Even community events follow the same trend. How many AAPK members read about the young man Devin and then how many actually did something, realizing that everyone might not be able to participate and not condeming anyone for not participating. Such is life. Treefarmer

Re: First cup!
Phil I actually meant that as a commentary on life in general. Stuff in my brain sometimes doesn't make it to my fingers. I have to go back and edit my posts several times before I hit the go giddy button because there are times I leave out entire words.
And the 80/20 rule? Too true. Too true. Works in most situations.
