Interesting Knife...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... _500wt_949
Ended early - some of you may know what the handle inscription means, to some it will be a mystery. Only the second one that I have ever seen.

Re: Interesting Knife...
I could have told you guys the knife was a KKK item, but I didn't want to get that whole KKK/Alabama/Southerner thing going.

Being from the south myself, I have to admit that the KKK was my first guess as well. I wasn't willing to go out on that limb either.

Re: Interesting Knife...
It was to meet a fellow KKK member that you have not met and do not know by sight.
Put the knife on the bar with the AYAK showing...Are you a klansman?
The fellow seeing it flips it over....AKIA....A klansman I am
At least that is my understanding.

Re: Interesting Knife...
I, too, have seen one other knife like that and heard the same story about the legends on the handles.
There were other authentic KKK knives with a five sided shield etched in the handle. I think "KKK" was inside, but not sure about that.

Interesting stuff! Secret organizations have all sorts of rituals, hand shakes, greetings that go right over our heads and we have no clue as to what is happening right in front of us. Treefarmer

Re: Interesting Knife...
The knife itself was interesting to me.
Per Goins – Warwick Knife Co.; c 1907-1929. “Belknap Hardware contracted so many knives from Warwick, that they had little time for the manufacture of their own. Therefore, Warwick marked knives are extremely rare.”

Re: Interesting Knife...
Sadly I knew what the inscription meant
I thought the handles were ivory which made ebay pull it. I didn't know that KKK stuff was verboten as well. Some of the old Klan items sell for allot of money.
