Just read the post about Australia, muslims and swimming pools. Image I hope that doesn't set the tone for the entire day.


The good news is, the Cubs beat the Pirates for the second time in a row. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, Cubs are so deep in the cellar it doesn't make any difference but it's pleasant to see them win once in a while.

Mornin guys! I just rolled out. Gotta hit the head, shower and get all set for church. I'll leave a little early from there and take off to today's version of the gun and knife show at Bastrop. Sold a few knives there yesterday.

Little cool starting out today. Our first serious break from the heat. Good day yesterday; the wife scored the free hat she was after, the BIL finally came and got his injured dog we've been keeping for him ::ds::
Bama won, Auburn lost. Surprised the wife with a knife (more on that in the 'new pickups' thread).

Yep, good day. 8)

Good Morning Gents! Cooler here today as well, big storm pushed through last night, got another 7/8" in my gauge (best summer for rain we have had in four years). Gonna sip my coffee and read AAPK a little then head to church.

Welcome to Monday. Back to work for me tonight. Ugh....

Thought about going fishing this morning, since it's cooled off finally. But it dawned on me yesterday that I need to go renew the fishing licence. Thanks to the State of Alabama, hunting/fishing licence run Sept 1st to Aug. 31st no matter when you buy them. ::uc::

Gotta love buracracy (even if I can't spell it ::facepalm:: )

Morning gents, sipping that first cup now. Royal, I plan to do some fishing for Redfish Wednesday morning in the backwaters around Mount Pleasant SC - going have to buy a SC license for that - oughta be a decent way to spend a morning at work!

Ps Best thing I ever did as an outdoorsman was buy a NC Lifetime Sportsman's license in 1985 - haven't bought anything but a federal duck stamp and various out-of-state licenses ever since; in fact the state mails me my new license in June every year - I don't even have to go run it down.

Been up for two hours but just now making it around to say Good Morning all.

Colonel, when I received my disability from the VA, the state of Illinois gave me a free fishing & hunting license for the rest of my life. I don't know what I'm going to do with them but by grannies, I got 'em. I guess if I get a wild hair to take one of the grand-kids fishing, I won't get run up by the DNR. :lol:
