I think one bad-ass football player decided he wasn't quite so bad-ass after that encounter - I love it! More of what that Gunny has would do our society well.

Gunnery Sergeants are the back bone of the Marine Corps. Worst azz chewin' I ever got was from the liaison Gunny at Ft. Bliss TX. Damn my azz is still sore from that one.

my younger bro retired as a master gunny. he would have fit right into that pic. heck he would have that player doing the pushups and jumping jacks. then run around the field 4 or 5 times.

Gunny is probably the most misunderstood rank in the Corps and the most loved by Marines!
When I was assigned to MAG-11 GSE Shop at EL Toro Gunny Phil Greco was in charge of the whole shop.
The Gunny was a mustanger who reverted from Capt back to Gunny when the squadron rotated back to the world. We had 3 or 4 OICs of the shop while I was there, but the Shop never ran smoother than when the Gunny was in charge. He had our backs and we had his! He was an Outstanding Marine!
