I know the VA made a mistake, Gringo......but that is no reason to go off half-cocked.

Lay an ice pack anywhere on your body, assuming your core temp is 98.6 degrees.

See if the ice lasts for nineteen hours.

The man utilized the VA and your tax dollars to get a sexually functional penis. How "service connected" could that possibly be?

Something went terribly wrong obviously, hematoma, tissue ischemia, or whatever.

I'm not at all sure the ice pack was the culprit.

Excellent point Charlie!
That was some sort of SUPER ICE PACK to last 19 hours.
I have had about 20 service connected surgeries at a VA Hospital, and while I know the VA staff is very dedicated and routinely goes beyond the call of duty I have never seen one nurse stay on duty for 19 hours! So that would mean that several nurses would have to have been incompetent and ignored the patient.
In all the time I have spent in VA Hospitals I have never seen anything like that, (assuming that an ice pack could last that long). When I have had ice packs, post surgery, I cannot recall then ever being left on for longer than about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on where the ice pack was placed.

It sounds to me like a "willing victim" & a trial lawyer wanting to get rich at tax payer expense!
A person can sue for anything; it will be interesting to see how the trial goes, if there is one.

Impotence can be a service connected condition. I have heard of claims for service connected impotence secondary to diabetes caused by exposure to Agent Orange.

Straight $90 per month. No service connected percentage. As I understand it (and who understands the VA system?) automatic entitlement when claimed in connection to Type II Diabetes.

They could have regularly changed the ice packs during that 19 hours. ::shrug:: They removed five inches of his penis. If they had done that to me, they would have also amputated my a--hole.

If they removed five inches of his penis, he probably doesn't even have a firm grasp of his loss.
