Mod it or leave it

Post by glennbad »

I picked up this nice little Winchester about a month or so back. As you can see from the pic, there is some pearl missing on one end. Because of that, the main blade is not tight at all.

Everything else about this knife is pretty good. Blades have snap, Winchester etch still visible, some rust though.

Is this worth leaving as is for any possible collector value? I was thinking about putting some nickel silver bolsters on that end, as it would make a nice user.

Thoughts, opinions???

Glenn,
Why not replace the MOP? It would probably be easier to replace one side than add a bolster.
If you PM me the dimensions needed for the handle, I will check and see if I don't have a piece of MOP that will fit it.
I have a few small pieces of MOP I picked up for bargain prices at a show.
I think one of them might fit the Winchester. If it will fit, it is yours my friend. ::tu::

That's a very generous offer Dale.

I will check the dimensions and let you know.

Thanks!
