Fine Ride to the Knife Club Meeting

Post by Paladin »

Today is the 1st Saturday and that means it is time for our little club meeting at a Georgetown BBQ joint.
Today I rode with David Garlick in his beautifully restored 1959 Edsel. David is the webmaster at knifedb.com , a site dedicated to Case pocket knives. Many of us here have visited and used this free site.
This isn't intended as an advertisement but I wanted to show off his Edsel. The vehicle was purchased new by his father and has been in the family ever since.

That car is almost old enough to get the senior discount at McD's and still in the same family as when purchased new. Phenomenal. How did it ride?

It was an excellent ride, smooth as could be. Everything worked, incl the A/C. Purred like a kitten.

That is a very cool Edsel; to the best of my memory, I have never had the treat of riding in one.
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

OH, it was a 1st for me also. It ran like a top. He drove it between 70 and 80 for a while on the toll road.
