I'm now glad I didn't get in this Roundtable. I'm losing my perspective on what I thought a POS was. So far the POS knives are better than the one I would have picked to send as a $20 user.  ::facepalm::

Patch1 says to leave the china bowie out in the woods.. ::rotflol:: I think I will leave it for the next guy..hahaha... Neat punch on what's left of the old bone scale cattle knife.

Thanks Patch,
Thanks Phil,

Patch, I've added a closeup of the tang stamp on the POS stockman, do you know the brand? I can't decipher it. That was a good knife (once upon a time)

I'm with Jerry on this one. This is my first POS Roundtable and I had started to think I misunderstood the premise.

jerry and ray. the way i see, if you stay within the pos guidlines, you are ok, anything more is a bonus for the reciever.
there will always be senders that will give more than expected ::tu:: .
also the pos and the more expensive knives is all in the eye of the beholder. so far, from what i have seen, everyone is doing fantastic

I wasn't being critical, Chet. I'm just saying I had no trouble picking out a POS (or several) but couldn't decide what qualified as a $20 knife without looking cheap OR going overboard. Analysis paralysis finally did me in and it was easier to sit this one out. ::doh::

I'm enjoying checking out everyone's idea's of what fit in each category.

Not a bad idea but unfortunately, when I think of doing it, I lock up in analysis paralysis all over again. ::facepalm:: I'm not normally this indecisive. ::shrug::

None of us want to look cheap..I get attached to my POS, and even parting with them is traumatic. I like the adventure though. So on with the saga.

Oh God how I know what you're talking about. I have at least one from each of the past POS Roundtables that just enthrall me. A knife that came in the January '12 POS pass around is an Ulster Scout with the Philips screwdriver missing and a main blade that's so loosey goosey you wouldn't believe it BUT the Delrin handles are very good and all blades (even the main blade after a fashion) have hard snap. I'm enamored with it and keep it on my desk where I can play with it almost daily. Is that sick or what. ::dang:: ::dang::

The issue with good knives is the small size of my accumulation. I only buy knives I like so seldom end up with one I'm willing to let go of. Buying something on eBay is difficult because most of the time my knife budget for the month is spent on the second of the month and If I do buy something, it's almost always something I like and I don't want to give away. ::uc:: ::shrug:: ::facepalm::
