I'm enamored with it and keep it on my desk where I can play with it almost daily. Is that sick or what.Dave O wrote:I get attached to my POS, and even parting with them is traumatic.![]()

The issue with good knives is the small size of my accumulation. I only buy knives I like so seldom end up with one I'm willing to let go of. Buying something on eBay is difficult because most of the time my knife budget for the month is spent on the second of the month and If I do buy something, it's almost always something I like and I don't want to give away.![]()

Glenn, Glenn, Glenn... You are such a generous man. I appreciate the offer more than you can ever know but I've already taken advantage of your skills and good nature several times (always immensely satisfied, I might add) and I would feel guilty doing it again.glennbad wrote: Jerry, Jerry, Jerry...I'm as much of a knife hoarder as the next guy, but if it bothers you that much, I'll make you something new on the house to take the place of your contribution...
Not to worry. Chet and I did the dirty deed without any further harassment from the peanut gallery. We decided in the privacy of PM's. Once the pressure was on, I was able to get off the fence and make a choice. It's not life and death anyway so what the hades. His package went out priority this afternoon so y'all will see what I mean by (I would think) Monday.

Re: POS ROUNDTABLE.... WITH A TWIST...............SIGN UP HE
Well it has arrived....found the postman unconcious behind his steering wheel, foot on the brake, car idling in gear, beside the mailbox. Thinking quickly I removed the "package" from his limp hand and threw it up in the yard. As he slowly came to I patted him on the head and told he shouldn't work so hard. A little addled, he drove away.
Any way I hit the mother lode today and here it is.
There several flavors from PAKIGHAN. AS always some are true treasures like the Case 63033. really neat .....all in all another great pos package... That two position , 4 piece Bowie is a riot...Herb

Re: POS ROUNDTABLE.... WITH A TWIST...............SIGN UP HE
I came home today after looking for the right piece of granite about YEA big which I found
I left it in the truck because I need to clear clutter from off of my work table and that could take days... Days and days and weeks and months and years... oh yes, You know how it is trying to find a clear surface to stack older clutter so that you can get the new clutter stacking up in it's place...Don't you? Or are you one of those orderly people with everything in it's "proper" place? Uh huh the old vicious cycle Shuffling clutter shuffling, shuffling, shuffling clutter, shuffling clutter, clutter, clutter
SO! I did what seemed right at the time
I put it off until a better time for such monotony arrived...
I LOVE following the logical path of reason...
Rather than heading towards the garage or the tool shed I was heading for the front door with a big smile on my face, Proud of all I had accomplished and basking in the light of my sound thought processes.
When all of a sudden
before I reached the door
I caught a wiff of something
I checked my shoes
nope... Whewww! And just as I was realizing what it could be my eyes were focussing on the mailbox
Oh NO! I bet it...Yep, but,but It was more faint of a stench then I would expect from Tom... I mean he seems like a nice fella and all but for a man of his calibre and experience with POS's and probably Poo in general I was expecting far worse... This got me to thinking
Could it be that the stench is so horrendous that only a man of Tom's experience (and calibre) could masterfully contain it to a slight stench so as to get it expedited to it's destination without drawing in the post master general himself for examination?
I opened the lid
It became a little stronger
I started to reach in when
I had a brilliant Idea
Latex gloves
So off I went to get them.... I returned
How could he do this? The smell had gotten stronger whilst I was gone... Like a timebomb set to slowly go off when it had found it's target
What to do?
I realized I had no choice in the matter
since I signed up for it and all... I started to realize I was a mere pup tossed in a cage with the big dogs as the smell started to become fishy
I held my breath
I held it again and with latex gloves on I nervously reached into the box as fast as I could and grabbed the box within and with godspeed set it down and ran away gasping for air

Re: POS ROUNDTABLE.... WITH A TWIST...............SIGN UP HE
Upon returning after whipping away the tears and catching my breath I was compelled to sniff the air... sniff, sniff ..... hmmm
It doesn't smell so bad
The air seems to be cleared of that BLAST of fish smell... Just a slight fishy stench now, almost a certain sweetness to it
Something is wrong with this picture
This IS NOT RIGHT !!! Something is bound to happen that isn't good, But what?
The slightly sweet fishy smell in the air emanating from the package (which I could now see that it WAS from Tom) made me go inside to get my CRKT Full Throttle that was made in Taiwan... The smell just guided me towards it with no mental effort at all on my part
Was I under mind control from one of Toms Fish Farts???
Say it isn't so... Oh what kind of Wizard have I fallen prey to ???
I returned to the package with taiwan knife in hand... I was in a strange harmonious Daze as I became one with the knife and the smell and now totally fixated on the task at hand...

Re: POS ROUNDTABLE.... WITH A TWIST...............SIGN UP HE
I take the Box with a good grip and make the first cut and then the next one and another and fearing the worst I pried the box open and stared into it... It looked like any well packaged knife order I have ever received in the past.
No dead fish that I could see.... I had either become used to the smell or it had dissipated all together gone just like that
I reach on in there to get a feel and moved in for a closer examination...
I remove a bubblewrapped item and make the cuts... I could tell that I was under some sort of spell but with every cut I became even closer to atonement with the spell...
Am I becoming one with Toms Fish Fart ??? I cared not as I Ripped off the bubblewrap and discovered

Hey Herb, I'm glad you weren't afraid to finish your postman's job for him... You patting him on the head reminded me of Benny Hill
That Paki knife still a four piece??? I didn't think it would survive the trip... Herb I want you to know That knife is Vintage from the 70's never used, carried or sharpened in the original box and packaging...
Boy those Pakistani's sure know how to build em eh? I figured you will use the made in Germany jewelers watch tool more than anything... I mean you already have knives lol I'm glad you had fun with the POS package I sent... I know I did lol....... Poor postal worker couldn't even get the emergency brake engaged...... TFF ::ROLFL::
