Has anybody ever heard of any stories, fiction or non, that are centered around pocket knives or any knives for that matter?
I know knife lore here refers to the histories and lineage for various cutlery companies, but I was just wondering if there are any stories out there about knives that are based in 'folklore'.
I can't recall when or where, but once a member posted a list of.. lets say, 'knife superstitions' i.e. if you drop a knife in the kitchen... if somebody hands you an open knife... and so on, and I found that really interesting. So that just got me wondering if there is any deeper "pocket knife mythology" out there.

Nestled right against the Allegheny River, among the forested mountains of the National Forest lies the quaint but ledgendary village of Tidioute,Pa. It is historically know for it's fabled cutlery past, which is very well detailed in David Anthony's new book ,""A Town With An Edge"" But also for other legends such as the free flowing Grandin Oil Well from the oil boom days of the late 1800's, and the nefarious Ben Hogan,known as the wickedest man in the world" who was said to have parties near Tidioute on Babylon Hill with his girl friend,red haired French Kate.
Another legend exist however,but is little known and avoided in conversation, involving suspicious sightings in the usually unobtrusive Allegheny River. Although questionable,there are accounts of curious activates in the river such as the local man who was exiting his tippy canoe along the shore when he heard something playing in the water nearby. He turned in time only to see a serpent's tail pull beneath the water. There is also the first hand account of a woman who after leaving her gin game one night, noticed some mysterious swaying movement in the dark river waters being made by an indistinguishable creature. During the recent first annual western days celebration, GEC sales representatives were set-up to show in front of Scott Kagel's True Value Hardware store when the latest sighting occurred. A lady attending a barbeque near the river was startled by a loud slapping sound made by a reptile like creature in the water along the river's edge. While recanting the story,someone suggested it was probably just an animal and she was loudly heard to exclaim""That was no beaver tail !!!""
