How do you take your coffee?

Post by jerryd6818 »

I was just making myself a cup and thinking about the boys over at the First Cup Diner and it got me to wondering, how do you like your coffee. Regular, decaff, strong, weak, medium, black, cream, sugar, c&s, in a cup, in a boot, in your wife's shoe... So I though a little survey might be fun. If I missed a choice, tough toenails. It's just for fun anyway.

Edit: BTW, I forgot to mention, you can choose three on this Poll.

Strong and since I drink it all day it goes in a holding pot....one teaspoon of sugar and one teaspoon of creamer for the whole pot,
and preferably Starbuck's Dark French Roast.

And to me, Caroline's tastes as good as Bailey's. There used to be one called McGuires that tasted just like Baileys at less than half the price. Came in a triangular bottle, or at least it used to. I haven't seen it on the shelf in quite some time.

The closer to 03:00 it gets, the stronger I like it.
Around 18:00-21:00, I'm on the foofoo train: Caramel lattes & such.
I had my own espresso machine at home, but my daughter killed it somehow. So now I have to use the old fashioned method - the french press.

I'm not a grizzled old man yet, so I still like my flavored creamers. I'm stuck on this Italian sweet cream right now, but southern butter pecan is always a favorite. Hazelnut is for sissies... Ok, I like hazelnut too. I wish I could drink it like my dad, all day long, straight out of the pot, black as nite. Ain't got time fer cream n sugar, proly cuz he's too busy makeing more coffee.

My ex-father-in-law claimed to have floated a horseshoe in a pot of my coffee. (He didn't, I wouldn't let him near the pot. He wanted to be able to see a horseshoe through the pot of coffee.)

I take my coffee black, don't much care for the flavored syrups/cream/sugar. At home I usually use a french press or a stovetop espresso maker. On the road and at work, I use a nifty french press made like a travel mug, and sold by Caribou, among others.

Black and strong for me. I believe in keeping it simple. I've got a large insulated travel mug I drink from no matter if I'm here on on the road. I'll usually have one big mug full each morning, and on occcasion if I'm working here at home where the plumbing facilities are readily available I'll pour myself a second mug. I rarely ever finish that second mug.

Black - about 90% of the time.
With real Half & Half occasionally (when we have some - usually when my daughter visits).
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark
