KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY

This just came
Robeson Shuredge 42264

Not shure I trhink the handles might be ivory from the grains in them, they didnt show up in pic because its cloudy and raining so I couldnt get a good pic. C

Open to any opinions, Charlie ??

Well Gino if it is this one of mine is as well because it looks just like the grain in the one I have.
I like the knife,very nice.

I really don't know the lingo that they used at the time...but I do know what it actually is...Ivory Celluloid.

I only own 2 Robesons...and they're both Scouts.

Two knives that just came in on the ol' conveyor belt of financial irresponsibility.

FRJ kindly let me know if you figure out how to get off that conveyor belt. You have some wonderful knives. That Shapleigh (sp?) at the top is a knockout.

No I didn't see that Catt. Just looked at it now. I remind myself of a dog I once knew. As soon as he entered a car, and before the car engine was on, he would begin to drool. Nothing was happening except he looked at the inside of the car. Just that produced maximum slobber. I now have to mop up my desk.

And Gino's great knives are adding to the mess.

Well thanks for your comments guys. I'm glad you like them. They're worn some, but I'm so glad to have them.
I have a weak spot for that old stuff in knives and hand tools in general.

Just won thees of E-bay,cant wait to add them to my collection.The Winchester remakes are some of the best made knives I have owned and Blue Grass Com are located right hear in Ohio.

Ulster did 4 Old Timers 100T,500t 580t and the 1140T which is your knife.If you look up the Old Timer list it has the date for these knives.

Philip, nice Winchester - I like the bronze series too. What do you know about the Zippo? I have one very much like it that I was gifted with when transferring out of a military unit in 1989. Did Case make them, or did Zippo have their own manufacturing line for knives, or did they sub-contract to another cutlery company (Colonial, Imperial, Camillus, etc.)? Mine came in the same black and white jewelry style box. OH
