Lords of War
Any of you guys watch Lords of War on NatGeo? They had 2 new episodes on last night, kind of like QVC meets Sons of Guns. They basically auction off guns, blades and militaria but they give some insight as to how old the item is and its history. Sean Rich, usually the gun expert on Pawn Stars, heads this show along with 2 other firearms guys and Larry "Hammer" Harley of Lonesome Pine Knives (he's the blade expert). I spoke with Larry on the phone a few years ago regarding a Hammer In knife making class I saw advertised on the SMKW website, he's a really nice guy. Since Red Jacket and American Guns aren't on Discovery any longer (political b.s.?), it's one of the few decent shows for gaining some firearm and blade knowledge on the tube. Check it out and tell me what you think.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Lords of War
Sounds like a good show, haven't seen it but will check it out!
I do watch American Pickers pretty often, and am always waiting for them to stumble upon a cigar box full of old pocket knives...but have never seen it happen! I can't believe with all of the old tool sheds, barns, attics, etc that they are digging around in that they never come up with a stash of old pocket knives (at least that I've seen) I mean with all of the classic bits and pieces of Americana they are constantly finding?....makes me think maybe they aren't allowed to show them finding knives...?
....That would be dissapointing...

Re: Lords of War
1967redrider -- Nope. They took NatGeo away from basic cable here. Now you have to buy a package that includes it.
Mike -- Or maybe they're just not knife knowledgeable and don't want to show their ignorance.

Re: Lords of War
jerryd, sorry to hear that about NatGeo. I like several of their shows.
Hard to tell about Pickers, they do seem to be as PC as possible. Never seen them buy old firearms either but I only catch it on occasion.
