What Countries are OK to Ship to?

Just wondering what experiences you guys have had with any particular countries when it comes to shipping knives. The countries i've shipped to with seemingly no issues are Germany, Canada and Puerto Rico. I do know that some seem to have a lot of issues with shipping to France, but i've never shipped there personally. Appreciate any input on this subject.

I've shipped a couple of times to Great Britain and a couple of times to Australia with no problems. That's the limit of my experience.

A little over ten years ago I bought a couple of knives from Italy. Had a heck of a time getting them. Took me over three months to get one and over five months to get the other. Take it for what it's worth.

W.B. -- Since the first of November last year, I've had enough trouble with the U.S. Postal System to last me a life time. I'm beginning to wonder if it's safe to ship to the Continental U.S.

For example: This past weekend I bought a knife off eBay. Sellers location is Danville IL, approximately 3-1/2 to 4 hours from here, middle of the state on the IN/IL border. The package went to the sort center in Champaign, then to the sort center in Elk Grove Village (Chicago Suburb). Next it should have come to Rockford. NOPE. Went back to Champaign. Just following the normal route, it could have been delivered yesterday but now? Who knows.

I ship frequently to Canada and Australia, but may not anymore as the USPS price increases are buh-listic!

Here is a copy of what knives you can export to Australia or I can import.Pocket knives ,hunting knives are alright.
The price of postage in the USA now makes it hard to sell knives on Ebay and send to Australia.
What I do is ask to send items First Class Mail and I accept responsibility for any loss in the mail (you can track First Class Mail while it in the USA by the Customs number ).I have never lost a knife in the mail.( over 400 knives )
I have purchased knives of a seller four days apart one took 9 days the other 29 days.So like Jerry said some knives come the long way around.

My daughter spent a summer in Italy a few years back via college and she bought me a knife when there and had it shipped home. She bought it, shipped it, came home a few weeks later, and the knife still didn't show up for another couple of weeks after she got home.

Anytime you have to deal with any customs in any country it's a crap shoot as to if your item will get there or not.

But, most of what I've shipped out of the US has been non knife related, so I'm thinking anything knife related will be worse.....
