another GHETTO fix on a ROBESON

grabbed this old ROBESON for $7 bucks.......snappy ,GOOD cond., ....BUT the pen blade nail nick sat TOO LOW. .....and the pen blade tip sat TOO HIGH and snagged stuff......

so i broke out my dremel and a lil sandin drum and got to work MODDIN' her back into EDC order

sanded a EZ open half round for the nail nick to be raised.......
(side note: i used an old "used" drum so grit was not to much...all i had was rough ones)
and sanded the top of the blade tip so it swooped down...as to not snag on stuff

i know cheesy MOD .......... ......but sometimes people forget that by just doin somethin simple,you can bring a knife back up to snuff, and ready to EDC AGAIN someday

and finished up.......light 0000 steel wool rub down ta smooth it all out.........READY TA ROCK

That looks great! Looks very pocket-worthy now. I use a dremel for some operations, but I also like to use files for blade reprofiling. That way I can ensure that I will not overheat the blade too much.

Careful, it looks like you're enjoying knife modding too much. Once you slide down that hole, there's no coming back...

YEAH GLENN...lolol....i have done ALOT of swiss army knife MODDING........but not really any other brands.

i get impatient ......SO i went slow and after 2-3 passes i let the tools fan(when it runs) blow on the blade for a few seconds...the a couple more passes....then back to fan......more passes...till done. ....and YES YOU CAN MESS A BLADE/ KNIFE UP FAST WITH A DREMEL TYPE TOOL!!!!

Thats dangerous gotta love livin on the edge (pun intended) I'm curious about your rehandle woohooo fill me in bro

I see that knife repair bug has bidden the Junebug!
It does get addictive my friend!

For reshaping the blades, you cannot beat a slow wet wheel.
I have 3 of them of different sizes. I picked up a small Craftsman "knife & tool sharpener" that has a water bath the stone wheel runs through. I think I paid $5 at a yard sale. I can do quite a bit with it. If you can find something like that for cheap you sure won't regret it!

Keep it up! it is fun to see what you come up with next!
