I just found a pile of money!!!!

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I just found a pile of money!!!!

Post by Colonel26 »

Well sort of. I was cleaning out my catch all corner (surely y'all have one too!), and I found an unopened box (550) of federal .22lr tht I'd bought way back yonder and forgot all about! Woo Hoo!

Now if I could just replace them I'd go shoot some. But since I can't, in the stash they go.

Hey, it gets better. I was just out digging around in the van that my wife doesn't drive anymore, and I found two boxes of 16 gauge shells! Woo hoo. I'm rich I tell ya, lol.

With all the hysteria going on concerning ammo I decided to gather up and inventory my stash. I have ammo I bought in the 70's and 80's and found plenty enough to share with a buddy in need - for once in my life my hoarding ways have paid off. OH

I went down to the lgs yesterday. Primarily to research my upcoming .22 rifle purchase! But I looked over the ammo while I was there. No .22 shorts, LR, magnum, nothing. No .223, 40, or 9mm. There was plenty of .380, .45acp, .38, and .357 although the 38/357 seemed on the high side to me.

There was plenty 30-30, 30-06, 7-08, 30-40 krag, .444, .450, 7mm, etc. so I bought 2 boxes of 30-30 Remington Corelokts at $17 and some change a piece. I was pleased as punch!

The ammo shelves in our local Academy and Walmart have been bare for several months except for 12 gauge and .30-06. I can't find any .22 shells anywhere. I have a block of 500 left - but will shoot some of it up this weekend.

I remember the 50 rounds for 99¢ days and that wasn't very long ago. ::nod:: I've decided to hold off on target practice until prices get back to normal. Glad to see the National gun bans getting shot down, no pun intended.

50 round boxes sold out 10, 10 box bricks at $10 a 50 round box at local flea mkt they'r bringing $15 box or $125 a 10 box brick.
we have plenty of 9mm, 45,44,40,380,357,38,32,25 but 22 long are hard to find these days. the 9mm, 45 and 357 went up a little but are still available around here. but we did put a 3 box limit on all handgun ammo. word going around is that regular price of 22 long will settle around 5-7 a box.... no more $1.79 a box (what we were selling them for before shortage)
