If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

A.G. Russell's Experience

Post by Quick Steel »

Some of you may know this, but others not. A.G.Russell sent out an email to some of his best customers. In it he expressed his opinion on the matter of gun control. The reaction it provoked shocked him. Although a few approved of his message others were angered. Several big purchasers, described as spending thousands of dollars several times a year, refused to buy from him in the future.

I did not see the email in question so I can't comment directly on it. However in the explanatory email I did receive AG said that his world had changed, his customers had changed and he would never again send out such an email i.e. expressing his opinion.

Seems sad to me that after doing so much to promote the knife industry he has now gotten burned by the gun issue. I would just like to suggest that those of us having differing views simply cut the old gentleman some slack.

I have had my opinion bite me in my rear a few times in my life so I agree with you QS. I hope everybody can give him a break.

From what I gather, he sent out an email to customers in 13 states, urging them to contact their representatives in opposition to pending gun control legislation. He got back replies from some saying that they didn't agree with him, but it looks like most folks have no problem with the email.

If he came out against more gun control, good for him. ::tu:: We need millions more like him!
Life would be meaningless if we couldn't wish for anything.
