re handle question clear material

hey guys ,what would you use to re handle a knife with a clear material

like the old adverts and such with a CLEAR plastic scale and a picture under it.......

what CLEAR material would you use????
and where would you get it from????

like this old IMPERIAL ...has clear plastic(scale) with gold(metallic) paint under ,and backed by black paint

Why not clear acrylic? Acrylic is being used by GEC for knife handles, it's just not clear. I would think it would be available locally in various thicknesses since it's commonly used to replace broken window glass (safety issue).

I think Kaleb was using something like Acrylic that he found at the hobby store. He had a thread talking about it somewhere...

Acrylic is fairly "brittle " and will crack from a drilled hole . perhaps "lexan" or polycarbonate would be a better choice if using sheet material . only bummer is limited colors available "off the shelf" in stores . someone had mentioned "casting resin" ? in another forum .

Hobby Lobby has a two part mix that can work for this, but it takes a little bit of practice.

tried that ELVIS................... didnt work for me.....
was good for shifter knobs used an old plastic easter egg as a mold
