Camillus #16 Equal End Jack Upgrade

Post by orvet »

I am absolutely shocked that no one has posted a new knife in the Customized Factory Knives forum since May 3rd, a month ago! All you knife mechanics on vacation?
Well, I about to fix that this morning!

This knife is a Camillus #16 equal end jack. It left the Camillus factory with brown composite handles, a real good functional knife but not really pretty. I decided it needed a make over.

It had been settin’ on my benches in pieces since before my knee surgery last month. As my knee has gotten stronger and the swelling has slowed down some when I am standing I started working on some old projects that I started some time ago to get back in practice.

I took this knife apart and put rope filework on the back springs and polished the knife inside and out.

For the handles I used some bone from Culpeppers; it is amber bone with Shetland jigging. I also inlaid the shield and glued it in with epoxy.

It was a pretty straightforward upgrade without a lot of extras involved.

Here is a pic in the sumlight which shows the depth of the color better.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Anyone would be proud to tote that one around in their pocket. I like it.

That's another beauty, Dale! The bone and shield set it off. Great looking knife for someone's pocket. ::tu::

Thanks for the kind words guys.
It is a nice pattern to carry, a handful, but on the slender side at the same time. No big lump in your pocket. It has a lot of snap too.

No, I don't sell on ebay.
I have seen my knives on ebay, but they were not sold by me.
